请问为何用介词over，可以改用in, on 吗？
over the holiday, on the holiday, in the holiday的不同之处？
over the holiday：介词over在此表示时间跨度，表示“在……期间”，与throughout, during大致同义。又如：
Over the past 25 years, she has been a valuable asset to our company. 在过去的25年中，她一直是大家企业的宝贵财富。
I've come to understand him better over the years. 历经多年，我目前对他有了更深刻的认知。
Over time, the paper begins to turn yellow and brittle. 伴随时间的流逝，纸开始变黄、变脆。
如此用的 over 也可以换成 during 或 throughout。
至于 on the holiday 和 in the holiday，使用方法说明如下：
1. on the holiday：有两个意思是，一是指在某节日，二是指度假（更一般的使用方法是 on holiday，即不需要the）。如：
People exchange gifts on the holiday. 大家在节日互换礼物。
He met a lot of interesting people on holiday. 他度假时碰到不少有趣的人。
2. in the holiday：英语极少如此说，若要用介词in，一般会用复数形式的holidays。如：
We decided to meet in the holidays. 他们决定在假期里见面。
We're going to do some fishing in the holidays. 大家筹备在假期里去钓鱼。
